The Dark Tower and Little Men star Michael Barbieri cast as a character “based on” Ganke Lee in Jon Watts’s Spider-Man: Homecoming

With Sony and Marvel co producing the forthcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming starring Captain America: Civil War break out star Tom Holland as the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, it has been announced that Michael Barbieri has joined the cast.

Barbieri who will also feature in The Dark Tower will reportedly play a character "based on" Ganke Lee, who in Marvel Comics lore is the best friend of the Ultimate Spider-Man; Miles Morales.

Best known for his role in Sundance Film Festival favourite Little Men, Barbieri will join Michael Keaton, Marisa Tomei, Zendaya, Laura Harrier and Tony Revolori in the Jon Watts Directed superhero flick which is due for release on July 7 2017, with Robert Downey Jr. reprising his MCU role of Tony Stark aka Iron Man.
