The Fan Carpet Share Our Thoughts On The All New And Unique Adaptation Of Agatha Christie’s WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION

Intense, Mysterious, Very Satisfying!
The new adaptation of Agatha Christie's 'Witness for the Prosecution' at London County Hall is a very unique experience; the play is set out like a courtroom, with the action taking place at centre stage.
Beautifully acted, the story is intriguing from start to finish, as we see and hear the trying of a murder case involving a wealthy older lady.
I wasn’t familiar with the story, I haven’t seen the 1957 film version or the 1982 TV Movie version, so I was happy to go along to this, as I enjoy theatre and new experiences, it is a must see for all theatre fans, and fans of a great classic crime story. I won't spoil it at all, all I will say is that you won't be disappointed.

NEW PRODUCTION IMAGES ARE RELEASED FOR AGATHA CHRISTIE’S ‘WITNESS FOR THE PROSECUTION’
THE PRODUCTION IS NOW BACK AT LONDON COUNTY HALL WITH A BRAND-NEW CAST
Emer McDaid (Romaine) in Witness for the Prosecution at London County Hall.
New production images have been released for Agatha Christie’s Witness for the Prosecution. The production returned to London County Hall last week with a brand-new cast who performed to sold out audiences and standing ovations.
Leonard Vole is accused of murdering a widow to inherit her wealth. The stakes are high. Will he be able to convince the jury of his innocence and escape the hangman’s noose?
The new cast includes Joe McNamara as the accused, Leonard Vole, Emer McDaid as Romaine, Jonathan Firth as Sir Wilfrid Robarts, Teddy Kempner as Mr Mayhew, Miles Richardson as Mr Myers and Martin Turner as Mr Justice Wainwright. The rest of the new cast includes Christopher Dickins, Nicholas Fretwell, Yvonne Gidden, Sam Graham, Eliot Giuralarocca, Stewart Lockwood, Lorna Lowe, Ellie-Rose Mackinlay, Elana Martin, Simon Murray, Robert Rickman and Andrew Senesie.
When theatres were closed in March 2020 Witness for the Prosecution had just celebrated its 1000th performance having played to more than 325,000 people over two and a half years. The production has captured the imagination of audiences gripped by the case of Leonard Vole, accused of murder in cold blood. Director Lucy Bailey (Oleanna, Theatre Royal Bath/ West End) thrillingly places the audience in the thick of the action as Christie’s enthralling tale of justice, passion and betrayal unfolds around them.
The twists and turns of the case are played out in a spectacular courtroom setting inside the atmospheric London County Hall as prosecution battles defence and witnesses take the stand to give their shocking testimonies. The production received Best Revival nominations at the 2018 Olivier and WhatsOnStage Awards.
Witness for the Prosecution is booking through to 20 March 2022. The production is designed by William Dudley, with lighting by Chris Davey, sound design by Mic Pool and casting by Ellie Collyer-Bristow CDG.

SEE IT SAFELY
At London County Hall, we have various Covid safety measures in place, including a brand new air ventilation system, large and spacious front of house areas, and more regular enhanced cleaning across the site.
For the safety and comfort of our audiences and staff, ticket holders will be strongly encouraged to wear face coverings when inside London County Hall.
Our new mechanical ventilation system introduces fresh, filtered air into the Chamber. All air is extracted at roof level, pulling air away from audiences. Used air is extracted straight to the outside and is not recirculated. Filters are changed as part of regular, routine maintenance and we have full control over the air system. Our lobby and bar areas provide audiences with large, spacious areas which are serviced by natural ventilation methods.
