05 March 2015

With a live-action version of Beauty and the Beast coming from Disney and Bill Condon, it has been reported that Downton Abbey and The Guest favourite Dan Stevens has dropped a massive hint that he will play a leading role opposite Emma Watson.

Taking to Twitter, Stevens who was last seen as Sir Lancelot in Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb posted an image saying "Beast Mode".

The Hollywood Reporter has also claimed that Stevens is in negotiations eight Disney to take on the role, if he signs on he will star with Emma Watson as Belle, and reports suggest that The Hobbit trilogy's Luke Evans is set to take on the role of the narcissistic Gaston.

British acting legend Emma Thompson is tipped to take the role of Mrs. Potts.

Stephen Chbosky, who directed The Perks of Being a Wallflower, has wrote the screenplay from a previous draft by Evan Spiliotopoulos.

Beauty and the Beast is the latest Disney classic to get a live-action revival, following the success of Maleficent. Cinderella has also received the treatment and will be followed by The Jungle Book.
