The Hobbit trilogy star Lee Pace joins Stephen Frears’ Lance Armstrong biopic
Whilst he'll next be seen as Thranduil in The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug it has emerged that Lee Pace has joined the untitled Lance Armstrong biopic from director Stephen Frears.
The Wrap reports that the identity of Pace's role is currently unknown, however he joins Ben Foster as the disgraced cyclist.
Adapted for the screen by Trance scribe John Hodge from the book entitled Seven Deadly Sins: My Pursuit of Lance Armstrong by journalist David Walsh, the biopic will chronicle the rise and fall of the famous cyclist who was banned from the sport following doping charges.
As well as the hugely successful and popular trilogy of The Hobbit, Pace is also set to feature as Ronan the Accuser in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, which is currently in post production and hits cinemas under the direction of Super's James Gunn on August 1 2014.
