The Lovely Bones Royal Premiere
Director Peter Jackson was in town for the Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund Royal Film Performance 2009. 'The Lovely Bones' premiere was held at the Odeon Leicester Square in Central London. The event is an annual charity screening of the current year's chosen film.
Based on the best selling book by Alice Sebold, The Lovely Bones is the story of a 14-year-old girl from suburban Pennsylvania who is murdered by her neighbor. She tells the story from Heaven, showing the lives of the people around her and how they have changed all while attempting to get someone to find her lost body.
Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall were greeted by the film's director, Peter Jackson, as well as the film's stars Saoirse Ronan, Susan Sarandon and Michael Imperioli and Rose McIver. Mark Wahlberg and Stanley Tucci did not attend.
Susan Sarandon wore a dark coat with glitzy sequinned shoulders for the event, while Saoirse Ronan wore a grey strappy chiffon dress. The Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla Parker Bowles wore a teal blue velvet dress and matching evening cape, while the Prince was black tie.
Also in attendance at the event were Andy Serkis, Anna Kendrick, Brian Friedman, Edith Bowman, Frank Skinner, Hofit Golan, Little Boots, Michael Imperioli, Nancy Dell'olio, Nick Knowles, Stephen Fry and Tamara Ecclestone.
