Johanna von Fischer and Tessa Collinson, directors of The Moët British Independent Film Awards announced today that this year’s awards at Old Billingsgate on Sunday 4th December, 2011, will be streamed live on LOVEFiLM.com, Europe’s largest subscription service streaming movies and TV episodes over the internet and sending DVDs by post.. It is the first time ever that the annual event has been broadcast on the internet live.

The Moët BIFAs will be the first awards ceremony to be streamed by LOVEFiLM. The exclusive broadcast will include live coverage from the red carpet as the nominees, presenters and guests arrive at the venue, followed by a live stream of the awards ceremony which last year saw Colin Firth receiving the Best Actor Award, Carey Mulligan pick up Best Actress and THE KING'S SPEECH win the Moët Best British Independent Film Award.

Visitors at LOVEFiLM will be able to tweet their questions to the stars as they walk down the red carpet and see their answers live as they are interviewed. Reactions from the winners as they come off stage will be tweeted directly to followers of LOVEFiLM’s twitter feed @LOVEFiLM #MoetBIFAs making their users the first in line to hear from the talent as they step off stage.

Moët & Chandon has confirmed a continued relationship with The Moët British Independent Film Awards as the event’s title sponsor.  The awards ceremony will return to Old Billingsgate on Sunday 4th December, 2011 to celebrate this year’s achievements in independent film.

Johanna von Fischer and Tessa Collinson, directors of The Moët British Independent Film Awards, made the announcement today.

2010 saw Moët & Chandon debut as the award ceremony’s first ever title sponsor, where film’s includingMonsters and Never Let Me Go were amongst the evening’s winners and The Kings Speech won the Moet & Chandon Best British Independent Film Award.

Nominations for this year’s awards will be announced on Monday 31st October, 2011.
