The Queen braved the snow for the premiere of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

01 December 2010

London's Leicester Square was taken over by screaming fans as The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader received its Royal premiere.

Braving the wintery conditions, The Queen made a rare appearance at the star-studded event which saw franchise star Anna Popplewell dazzling the crowd. Also in attendance was the iconic Liam Neeson who voices the majestic lion Aslan, Georgie Henley who portrays young hero Lucy and franchise newcomer Simon Pegg who voices the courageous Reepicheep.

Released on December 9, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader sees Lucy and Edmond spending a dreary holiday with their cousin Eustace Clarence Scrubb, who is a rather dour and mean spirited little boy. They are unexpectedly drawn into Narnia when a painting of a ship on the wall of Lucy’s room comes to life, and the three children fall into the ocean to be rescued be the Dawn Treader.

Once safely on board, Lucy and Edmond are greeted by their friend Caspian (now King Caspian) who has undertaken a quest to find the seven lost Lords of Narnia, as he had previously promised to Aslan. Lucy and Edmond are delighted to be back in Narnia, but Eustace is less than enthusiastic. Reepicheep is also on board, as he has vowed to find the seas of the ‘utter east’.
