The Theory of Everything’s Felicity Jones reportedly going to a Galaxy Far, Far Away

The Theory of Everything BAFTA and Academy Award nominated sought after actress Felicity Jones has reportedly emerged as the frontrunner for the coveted lead role in Godzilla director Gareth Edwards's Star Wars spinoff.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jones has become the frontrunner, although at this time Disney has declined to comment.
The eagerly awaited spinoff, that will be the first of the planned three series of films that are set in the Star Wars universe, but are not directly connected to the upcoming trilogy.
Orphan Black's Tatiana Maslany and Girl with the Dragon Tattoo actress Rooney Mara were previously linked to the 2016 spinoff, although there are no details on the character they auditioned for yet.
Edwards will direct from script from writer Chris Weitz, who co-wrote About a Boy, who has replaced original screenwriter Gary Whitta.
In December, it was reported that Need for Speed and Breaking Bad alumni Aaron Paul will appear in Edwards's film as a younger version of Harrison Ford's iconic character Han Solo.
Jones returns to cinemas with Rupert Goold’s True Story alongside James Franco on June 5.
