Thor: The Dark World’s Natalie Portman reveals being starstruck by Dirty Dancing legend Jennifer Grey
She returns to cinemas next month as Jane Foster in the eagerly awaited Thor: The Dark World from Marvel and Natalie Portman has revealed that she gets starstruck around Jennifer Grey.
The Oscar winning actress is a huge fan of the female lead from 1987 film Dirty Dancing and revealed to ell she can't help but feel flustered when she sees the fellow Jewish star at synagogue explaining "Yes I've met Jennifer. We go to temple together. And I freak out every time I see her - I'm such a nerd!
She kind of gets the 'polite eyes' when she comes, because she knows I'm going to jump on her. I wish I weren't as nervous as I am around her. I can't get over it."
Admitting that she has no qualms about mentioning Grey's film with the late Patrick Swayze when they bump into each other, she revealed "Of course we talk about Dirty Dancing! I can't talk about it too much, or I'll start getting teary," she admitted. "There are other movies I love, but no other movie that I have watched over and over."
Discussing how being a film star seems much easier now that she is a parent the Black Swan actress shared "Yes - acting feels really easy, I love being a mum, but it's much more intensive work than being an actress - going to work feels like you've got a day off. Not that I want a day off from being a mum, it's just perhaps I had this impression before that mums don't work. But they work more than anyone."
Portman currently has Knight of Cups, Jane Got a Gun and the Untitled Terrence Malick Project in post production.
