Tyler Perry cast as scientist Baxter Stockman in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel
It has been announced that Tyler Perry, who was last seen in David Fincher’s Gone Girl has joined the cast of the sequel to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as scientist Baxter Stockman.
Directed by David Green, the sequel, rumoured to be titled Teenage Mutant NInja Turtles: Half Shell, will see Perry alongside returning cast members Danny Woodburn, Alan Ritchson, Will Arnett and Megan Fox as Splinter, Raphael, Vernon Fenwick and April O'Neil respectively, with Arrow hero Stephen Amell as fan favourite Casey Jones and Supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio who will play herself.
The Madea star is one of the main villains the Turtles will face in the film.
In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles lore, Baxter Stockman created the rat-destroying machines the Mousers before becoming a cyborg, in the early 90’s cartoon, Stockman became a mutated fly creature.
Produced by Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 has been written by Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec and hits cinemas on June 3 2016.
