Unite the Seven! James Wan announced to Direct Jason Momoa’s Aquaman

03 June 2015

With DC Comics and Warner Bros. crafting their own Superhero Cinematic Universe, it has been announced that Fast and Furious 7's James Wan will Direct Aquaman starring Jason Momoa.

It is believed that the story for the Aquaman adaptation will centre on the ruler of Atlantis' reluctance to take power as his citizens prepare for war against the surface world.

Warner Bros president Greg Silverman announced the deal saying "The Aquaman film will be a major tentpole picture for us and James's span of work has proven him able to take on any manner of project, bringing his incredible creative talent and unique voice to the material."

Momoa will make his first appearance as Aquaman in Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, with the character also expected to feature prominently in the two-part Justice League adaptation.
