VFX guru Tim Miller set to make directorial debut with Deadpool

It's one of Ryan Reynolds' many film projects, and while his participation is in question it is reported that the Deadpool spinoff film has a new director in the form of VFX guru Tim Miller.
While this would mark his directorial debut, Miller has brought some iconic superheroes to life including X-Men and its sequel, Daredevil and most recently Scott Pilgrim Vs the World. He is also part of the team working on getting Eric Powell’s cult classic comic character The Goon into cinemas.
His work also includes genre material including Planet of the Apes and Cats & Dogs and could be the perfect fit for writing team Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick of Zombieland fame. There has been no official word from Fox but Reese hit Twitter to confirm the news.
However the studio would hope that the addition of a director will bring the film closer to being made, and while Reynolds has publicly said that he wants to return as the merc with a mouth, the worry is that he will have to bow out due to his other commitments. Only time will tell, stay tuned to The Fan Carpet for more on this as it develops.
