Word is that Waititi and Marvel Studios have officially entered into negotiations for Thor: Ragnarok.
Waititi is best known for the aforementioned What We Do in the Shadows, that he collaborated on with Jemaine Clement as well as New Zealand's critically-acclaimed family drama Boy.
As well as the comedy horror with Clement, the filmmaker also wrote on Clement's beloved series Flight of the Conchords, and portrayed DC Comics' Thomas Kalmaku in the ill-fated 2011 superhero outing Green Lantern.
Thor: Ragnarok hits cinemas on October 27 2017 and will feature Chris Hemsworth as the titular superhero.
