WHO LET THE CREEPS OUT? The York Dungeon Announces Spooky Walking Tour Around The Historically (In)Famous City

08 April 2021

The darkest history of York will be coming to light this April as The York Dungeon announces its brand-new, frighteningly fun and family friendly city walking tour.

Starting from Friday 16th April 2021, tours will be running Friday to Sunday, with a range of start times throughout the day.

Family day trips and city sightseeing have been limited over the past year, yet as the UK prepares to exit lockdown The York Dungeon has the perfect plan for an eerie and exciting day out.

Taking the spooky, yet beloved, York Dungeon family attraction above ground, guests will be taken on a tour of some of the city’s most hair-raising historic locations by two of the Dungeons most or should we say least loved characters.

Packed full of ‘orrible tales of the cities murky history, which are all wrapped up in suspense and surprises,  families can discover the real tales of the city which has been labelled as one of the UK’s most haunted.

Andy Turner General Manger of The York Dungeon said “We are so excited to be able to bring our family favourite dungeon experience out of the shadows and onto the streets of York.

The York Dungeon has been an experience for so many before, yet never like this. Guests will be able to learn about the history of York, whilst visiting landmarks and there may be a few spooky surprises along the way.”

Tours will depart from outside The York Dungeon starting from 12:00pm, 13:30pm, 15:00pm and 16:30pm and will run on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Guests must pre-book tickets in advance via The York Dungeon website, with prices standing at £6.50 for adults and £5.50 for children. Tours will be limited to just 15 peasants, so early booking is recommended to avoid ‘orrible disappointment. All children aged 5 -15 must be accompanied by an adult 18 or over.

Customer safety is at the upmost importance, so all tours have been fully adapted to be Covid-19 secure, including social distancing, limited tour size and the entirety of the tour taking place outside.
