Will Ferrell looking to adapt Crazy U

27 March 2012

Hollywood funnyman Will Ferrell is looking to team with New Line Cinema to bring Andrew Ferguson's 2001 book Crazy U to the big screen.

Word via Deadline is that Ferrell is eyeing the lead role in a film version of Crazy U: One Dad's Crash Course In Getting His Kid Into College which focuses on the lengths a father goes to to ensure that his son gets a place at a good university.

Ferrell's character attempts to take all the stressful and difficult aspects of college application into his own hands.

Ferrell's production company Gary Sanchez Productions is set to produce with partner Adam McKay and Jessica Elbaum and Misher Films' Kevin Misher.

Ferrell is currently starring with Gael García Bernal in Matt Piedmont's Spanish language comedy Casa de mi Padre and is set to appear in Jay Roach's The Campaign with The Hangover's Zach Galifianakis and Ghostbusters legend Dan Aykroyd later this year.
