Will Oscar winning Actress Cate Blanchett be Marvel’s first leading female villain in Thor: Ragnarok?
Whilst it has not been confirmed by Marvel, it looks as though two time Oscar winning sought after Actress Cate Blanchett could become Marvel's first leading female villain, if Mark Ruffalo is to be believed.
It has been reported that the Carol star is joining the eagerly awaited third entry in the Thor franchise entitled Thor: Ragnarok in an unknown major role and according to Avengers: Age of Ultron’s Mark Ruffalo has let slip the type of role she might be playing telling ET "I saw her at the Governors' Banquet here and heard that maybe she was circling - they were talking to her about the part.
So I ran up to her, and I was like, 'Please, please, please make this work!
She's just one of the best, and to have her play a baddie is going to be really exciting."
Blanchett who returns to Cinemas alongside Robert Redford in Truth this March was up for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama at last night’s Golden Globes for her role in Carol, however she lost out to Brie Larson for her role in Room.
