X-Men: Days of Future Past hero James McAvoy wants X-Men to face off against The Avengers

With X-Men: Days of Future Past currently amassing success at the box office, James McAvoy who returns to his role of the younger version of Professor Charles Xavier has predicted that the X-Men would defeat The Avengers if they went head-to-head.

Speaking to SiriusXM Town Hall, the acclaimed Scottish actor jokingly expressed interest in facing off with the stars of Marvel's other hit franchise The Avengers on the big screen quipping "I would like to see us fight them, though. I'd like us not to team up, I'd like to see us fight them and, you know, annihilate them, as we surely would.

Be like, 'Hey, Robert Downey. Oh, here you go. There's your ass.' 'Sorry, I've got a bunch of asses in my hand. I think they belong to you Avengers?'"

McAvoy isn't the only X-Men franchise star to want the Marvel properties to unite on the big screen, previously Hugh Jackman, who has played Logan aka Wolverine in all seven entries in the X-Men franchise has publicly expressed interest in uniting the X-Men, The Avengers and Spider-Man in one film, however to date, rights issues have made that feat impossible.
