X-Men: Days of Future Past Lights Up London
For the first time in London, Westminster City Council has granted permission to project onto the pedestrian diagonal crossing at Oxford Circus. 3D stills and moving visuals will be beamed down from the rooftops of Nike Town for an immersive public installation.
Projections will take place between 8.30pm and 11pm tonight and tomorrow (Friday 23 and Saturday 24 May) to support the release of X-Men: Days of Future Past. Throughout the evening the ‘X’ at Oxford Circus will light up during the 18 second designated crossing time.
David Shaw, Head of the Regent Street Portfolio at The Crown Estate, which is supporting the project, said: “We are delighted to work with Twentieth Century Fox once again in what looks to be an exciting first for London’s West End. Since launching in 2009, the Oxford Circus diagonal has not only eased pedestrian congestion, allowing for greater access to one of the world’s premier shopping destinations, it has also become a landmark in its own right”.

Every 24 hours approximately 500,000 visitors pass through Regent Street and Oxford Street making Oxford Circus one of the busiest interchanges in Europe.
X-Men: Days of Future Past features Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Ian McKellen, Anna Paquin, Michael Fassbender, Ellen Page, Peter Dinklage, James McAvoy, Halle Berry, Shawn Ashmore, Lucas Till, Patrick Stewart, Daniel Cudmore, Booboo Stewart, Omar Sy, Fan Bingbing, Adan Canto, Famke Janssen and James Marsden.? ?The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST.
