X-Men: Days of Future Past’s Jennifer Lawrence confirmed for Joy Mangano biopic
She can currently be seen as Raven aka Mystique in Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days of Future Past and acclaimed actress Jennifer Lawrence has confirmed that David O Russell asked her to take the lead role in his upcoming biopic.
Lawrence will take on the lead role of Miracle Mop inventor Joy Mangano in the film, and MTV News reports that during an appearance on Live With Kelly and Michael, Lawrence admitted O Russell made the suggestion via text explaining "[Russell] recently texted me at I think 4 in the morning, and he was like, 'I think I want to make a movie about the woman who invented the [Miracle] Mop. You want to do it?'
I was like, 'Yeah,' I can just imagine David looking at somebody mopping and being like, 'Yeah, that's my next screenplay.'"
This will mark the third time Lawrence has collaborated with O Russell, they first worked together on Silver Linings Playbook and then on the Oscar nominated American Hustle.
