SYNOPSIS
Life on the Dickens’ rambling outback sheep station is disrupted by the arrival of Alexander, the family hero on holiday from his supposedly successful social climbing in London with his gorgeous new wife Deborah. The cosmopolitan Deborah worries at first that life on the ranch will be a bore, but she keeps plenty busy as her charms beset the farm with the chaos of jealousy, family rivalry and secret romance. The women–including Alexander’s strong, independent daughter Sally, the matriarch Maud, and the Irish housekeeper Hannah–resent her. The men–including the handsome, idealistic outback doctor and the repressed and overworked Uncle Jack–fall agonizingly in love with her. Tied up in this tangle of sexual tension, relations between the household members are bound to get only more complicated.
