SYNOPSIS
Norman: The Moderate Rise and Tragic Fall of a New York Fixer. This is the comic and compassionate story of Norman Oppenheimer. Norman, played by Richard Gere, is a humble New York fixer in Cedar’s re-imagining of an archetypal tale that has played out in history and literature for thousands of years: the Court Jew.
Norman lives a lonely life in the margins of New York City power and money. Always on the lookout for someone willing to pay attention to him, Norman sets his sights on Micha Eshel (Ashkenazi), a charismatic Israeli politician alone in New York at a low point in his career. When Eshel becomes the Israeli Prime Minister three years later, Norman discovers that cashing in on his connection is more complicated than he thought.
