SYNOPSIS

PLUCK focuses on the power of advertising Nando’s at a time when South Africa was undergoing tremendous political and social change. Thanks to considerable access to the advertising archives of many of the agencies localised, coupled with commentaries from those who had responsibility for the numerous campaigns of hundreds of advertisements that satirised both PC and non-PC subjects (the advert involving a blind woman and a guide dog is particularly potent when you watch it), local political figures like Nelson Mandela are not immune to such campaigns.
