SYNOPSIS
For thousands of years spiritualists, numerologists, and all interested in mystical forces upon the future have sought the ancient relic the Loculus. As a secret society slaughters groups of people in search of the artifact, the Loculus turns up in the back of a camper in the year 2001. A billionaire (Terence Stamp) seeks to obtain the relic, aided by his son (James D’Arcy) and an alchemist (Natasha Wightman). Their search is not solitary, a fact they discover by meeting the Grand Master (Udo Kier), a demonic being who has wondered the Earth since Christ’s crucifixion.
One of many interesting films to arrive at the turn of the century depicting a journey for a code with the key to the future. Steeped in myth and legend, the film possesses a great meditative power and culminates in a battle between two acting legends in Kier and Stamp, whose similar features provide a perfect counterpoint.
