"there wasn't a bored moment as it swiftly wrapped up with a teary yet fulfilling ending"
A warm-hearted film. I was pleasantly surprised. Ryan Reynolds masters the comedy side to his talents in a strong but subtle performance. Undoubtedly a lot of people can relate to this story, it's romantic and quite possibly realistic.
It's slightly unsettling that 11-year-old Maya appears way beyond her years and I also picked up on one writing goof early in the film (but I can't mention it without giving away a spoiler). The film is nicely structured, the opening credits were long, which is rare for romantic comedies but there wasn't a bored moment as it swiftly wrapped up with a teary yet fulfilling ending.
