Daphne Reynolds has what every girl wants - or so it seems. This spirited young American girl has a unique style all of her own, and unconventional but loving relationship with her mother Libby, and a future full of possibilities - yet still she feels incomplete. She dreams of meeting the father she's never known - the man her mother shared a whirlwind romance with seventeen years ago, and who left her mother behind because his aristocratic family found her unsuitable. Determined to find her father, Daphne impulsively head to London - where she soon discovers her father is a high profile politician. A politician for whom having an illegitimate daughter could ruin his chances of winning an upcoming election, unless she fits in. Although she tries, Daphne soon realizes she doesn't like the person she's becoming, and as much as she wants to be her father's daughter, it's not worth it if she can't be herself.
