Avengers Assemble’s Samuel L. Jackson joins Jose Padilha’s RoboCop

07 June 2012

Hollywood legend Samuel L. Jackson who can currently be seen as S.H.I.E.L.D Director Nick Fury in Marvel's Avengers Assemble has joined the casket of the RoboCop remake.

Word is Jackson will play a “charismatic TV mogul" named Pat Novak opposite Joel Kinnaman's cop Alex Murphy and Gary Oldman's scientist who makes him a cyborg.

Elite Squad's Jose Padilha is at the helm of the remake that will feature a script by James Vanderbilt, it is thought that this take of the sci-fi classic will tackle big media’s impact on our lives in a slightly different way to Paul Verhoeven and Ed Neumeier’s original.

As for Jackson, he's currently filming Quentin Tarantino's western Django Unchained and will reprise his role of Nick Fury in the upcoming Joe and Anthony Russo directed sequel to Captain America: The First Avenger.
