Channing Tatum takes on ‘The Contortionist

11 August 2010

He's hot property at the moment, and after a string of successes and working with legendary directors Ron Howard and Steven Soderbergh for 'The Dilemma' and 'Haywire' respectively he has grabbed a new film project called 'The Contortionist’s Handbook'.

Based on Craig Clevenger’s 2002 novel, the film follows a forger who is able to slip in and out of tricky situations and change identities like a chameleon because he never puts down roots or makes personal connections thanks to a strict code of conduct. Bet you can’t guess what happens to drive the drama? That’s right! He falls for a beautiful woman and it derails his plans, plunging him back into confronting his troubled past and dealing with his new love’s own dark secret.

John Penotti said "Craig Clevenger's crafting of the highly complex character of John Vincent Dolan entertained and shattered us when we read it," enthuses GreeneStreet's to Deadline. "Robin's adaptation crisply captures the gripping journey that Channing will lead us through."

There is no word on a director or start date as yet but 'The Contortionist’s Handbook' sounds like an interesting project for the young actor.
