Dredd director Pete Travis forced out

07 October 2011

This doesn't bode well but it is being reported that Pete Travis, the director behind the new version of Judge Dredd has been force out during the post-production stage.

According to The LA Times, Travis was removed from the project shortly after photography was completed due to "creative disagreements" with the producers which has left writer and producer Alex Garland in charge of the final film version and remours suggest that he may go after a co-director title on Dredd considering the talk of reshoots.

The British comic book anthology 2000 A.D that Dredd is based on is set in a dystopian future where the police force has been given the power to act as judge, jury and executioner to whomsoever they perceive to be part of the criminal element.

Dredd stars Star Trek's Karl Urban, The Darkest Hour babe Olivia Thirlby and Game of Thrones' Lena Headey.
