Emma Watson reveals new hair do

06 August 2010

Young English star Emma Watson has closed a chapter on her life, not only has she finished filming 'Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows' the final installments to the Harry Potter phenomenon, but she has also opted to shed her trademark locks for a short pixie hair style.

Speculation is now rife as to what roles Emma will go for now that she is sporting a new look that is so far removed from Hermione Granger who she has played for over a decade. Others think that it is just to be taken more seriously as a young student at University, whatever the case, here are just a few possibilities for the young, talented and beautiful English Rose:

Everybody has been wondering who will star alongside Daniel Craig as Lisbeth Salander in the David Fincher directed adaptation of 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' but Watson's name has been curiously off the list. Looking at her now, I think she would be a great choice for the role. It's an edgier, darker franchise than the one she's just come off, making the career move just as drastic a change as her decision to chop off her hair, However, I'd also like to see her at a desk at Charles Xavier's school for the gifted in the Matthew Vaughn directed 'X-Men: First Class'. After all, with her shorter hair, Watson is a spitting image of Jean Grey from Marvel's Ultimate line of comics.

Whatever the case, Emma said on her Twitter account that the new do was liberating she wrote 'Dear all. Cut my hair off a few days ago... Feels incredible. I love it. I've wanted to do this for years and years; it's the most liberating thing ever. Hope you like. Big love from Emma x' and in a magazine interview she said “The stylist just grabbed the back of my hair and took a whole ponytail of hair out. It felt amazing,” she also said that she "missed all that experimentation that most teenagers go through." Due to the continuity in the Harry Potter franchise.
