Joaquin Phoenix set to rise from the ashes
Joaquin Phoenix is reported to be set to come out of retirement with a new indie comedy drama called 'Big Shoes'.
The world renowned actor who appeared as the villain in the blockbuster hit of 2000 'Gladiator' is firmly attached to star in the next project from Steven Shainberg, who made Secretary with James Spader and Maggie Gyllenhaal in 2002.
If he signs on to star, he will play a foot and shoe fetishist who is also an amazing footwear designer, however sources close to the actor speculate that he is waiting to see how his documentary 'I'm Still Here' performs before re-launching his thesp career.
Apparently Phoenix has also taken meetings, although they came to nothing, about Poe thriller 'The Raven', Sean Penn's Thomas Wolfe biopic 'Genius', and the Jonah Hill comedy The Sitter'.
