John Travolta, Uma Thurman and Blake Lively are all set to join drug drama Savages

22 April 2011

Oliver Stone has added two more bits of hot property to his drug cartel drama Savages based on Don Winslow's bestselling novel. The story focuses on two best friend pot growers Chon and Ben, who live happily sharing their girlfriend O. Unfortunately their product is so good that the Mexican cartel tries to coerce them into working for the cartel. When they refuse, the cartel kidnaps O and charges a heavy ransom to get her back. The growers pay the ransom by covertly ripping off the cartel's own shipments. Which doesn't need to be said is a stupid idea!

The film already boasts Salma Hayek who plays the role of Mexican cartel queen pin-up Elena and Benicio Del Toro (who else can play a Mexican heavy like Del Toro?) as Salma's right hand man and cartel enforcer. Taylor Kitsch plays former Navy SEAL Chon and now John Travolta, Blake Lively and Uma Thurman have joined the cast. Lively will play the role of O, Travolta will play Dennis, a burned out DEA agent, and Uma Thurman will play O's Mum, Paqu. Filming starts in June and we will keep you up to date as the film progresses.
