Rachel Weisz joins Colin Firth in The Railway Man

26 November 2011

Screen hottie Rachel Weisz who is known for The Mummy series, Enemy at the Gates, About a Boy, Constantine and The Constant Gardener has landed the role of Patricia 'Pattie' Wallace, Eric Lomax's second wife in World War 2 drama The Railway Man.

Oscar winner Colin Firth is already set to play Lomax a second Lieutenant in the Royal Corp of Signals who was captured in 1942 by the Japanese army in Singapore.

The film from Jonathan Teplitzky also stars War Horse rising star Jeremy Irvine and is the true story based on Lomax' life as a POW and his mission to seek revenge years later on those who tortured him when he was forced to work on the 'death railway' with hundreds of other prisoners of war.

Weisz can currently be seen in Dream House with offscreen hubby Daniel Craig and is filming Oz: The Great and Powerful with director Sam Raimi and The Bourne Legacy with director Tony Gilroy.
