Saoirse Ronan’s The Order of the Seven halted by Disney

While fairytale adaptations are all the rage at the moment in Hollywood word is that Disney have halted work on The Order of the Seven.

The Order of the Seven was to be a twist on the classic Snow White fairytale and see sought after talent Saoirse Ronan in the lead role, but a cording to The Hollywood Reporter the House of Mouse have put the film on indefinite hold.

After over a decade in development, Michael Gracey was due to make his directorial debut on the film which began life as a retelling of the Brothers Grimm story, centring on a group of warriors tasked with protecting a young woman.

The film had former Disney chairman Rich Ross was overseeing before his recent resignation and while it was never officially given the green light, it seems with the poor performance of John Carter earlier this year and budget concerns the film has been shelved.

As for the Oscar nominated Ronan will next be seen in Andrew Niccol's The Host alongside Diane Kruger when lands in cinemas on March 29 next year.
