The Dark Knight Rises star Matthew Modine nabs key role in Steve Jobs biopic

07 June 2012

Matthew Modine who will next be seen as Deputy Commissioner Foley in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises has nabbed the coveted role of Apple CEO John Sculley in the forthcoming Ashton Kutcher starring Steve Jobs biopic entitled Jobs.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Modine who is known for the likes of Full Metal Jacket, Any Given Sunday and Memphis Belle said of the man who tapped Jobs to head Apple in 1983 and then fired him two years later "It's my feeling - and I think there's a lot of people who feel - that had John Sculley not fired Steve Jobs from Apple Computer and [let] Steve go on the journey that he did when he was away from Apple Computer, that we wouldn't be speaking about Steve Jobs today."

Modine has Family Weekend from director Benjamin Epps in post production where he stars as Duncan Dungy alongside Kristin Chenoweth and Joey King.
