Warner Bros. hire The Gangster Squad’s Will Beall to write Justice League film

06 June 2012

Following the success of Marvel's Avengers Assemble, it would appear that rival company DC Comics/Warner Bros. are ready to start moving on a Justice League big screen outing.

Word is that Warner Bros. have hired The Gangster Squad scribe Will Beall to pen the film that would bring the iconic Batman, Superman The Flash, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman together on the big screen.

Beall is somewhat of hot property, since writing The Gangster Squad, he nabbed the reboot of Lethal Weapon as well as the remake of Logan’s Run which will unite him with Nicolas Winding Refn as well as the ever in demand Ryan Gosling.

It hasn't been an easy ride getting the Justice League onto the big screen; Mad Max director George Miller came closest in 2007, with the likes of Common, Armie Hammer and Adam Brody attached to star.

With Batman arguably being the most successful DC Comics character on film and still being looked after by Christopher Nolan, Superman set for the reboot treatment with Man of Steel, Green Lantern underperforming at the box office and Wonder Woman and The Flash films still in separate development a Justice League outing looks certain to make it to the big screen, what isn't known yet is what form it will take.
