A Conversation With Multi Talented Actress Jasmine Sumner For WRATH OF DRACULA

Jasmine Sumner is a professional actress and has been featured in multiple award winning short films including “Vanity“, “Meat Free” and “The Nocnitsa” and has recently had a huge role in an independent feature film “Old Street” which will be premiering in London in September.

As a model Jasmine has been published in Vogue and Malvie magazine and her commercials include Facebook, Chemist direct, Lloyds Pharmacy and Buxton.

Jasmine is energetic and friendly loves music festivals and keeping active with the active diversity of everything from yoga to bouldering and Muay Tai boxing.

In our interview, Jasmine tells The Fan Carpet‘s Marc Jason Ali about how she got her start in the Industry, her love of Stranger Things and who she’s like to work with…

 

 

If we go back to the beginning, was there a defining moment for you to get into the Entertainment Industry?

I have always wanted to be an actor since I was 3 years old I’ve always wanted to tell stories entertain create worlds.

 

You are in Wrath of Dracula, What was it about it that made you want to be a part of them, and what can you tell us about the story and your character without giving away spoilers?

Playing a vampire was a real dream role I loved every moment of it! She was so much fun to play it was like being back at the theatre the set was amazing working with Steve was brilliant he has such a great imagination.

 

What does it mean for you to be a storyteller and tell stories in this way?

It means everything to me it’s all I have ever wanted to do.

 

What is your preferred genre, and do you have any favourite films?

I love them all to be honest and particularly love mixed genre films I think they really stand out.

 

Are there any other aspects of the Film Industry that you would like to pursue?

Writing and Producing for sure.

 

You have an eclectic range of credits from TV to Short Films to Feature Film, are there any genres that you haven’t done yet that you’d like to?

I would love to do a comedy I was once involved in a pilot for a quirky show and I would have loved to do more of that.

 

 

You’ve worked with some great talent both in front and behind the camera, do you have a wish list of who you’d like to work with?

Yes absolutely Danny Boyle and Saoirse Ronan would be right at the top.

 

Who inspires you within the industry?

So many people for different reasons.

 

Circling back to Wrath of Dracula, do you have any memorable moments from filming that you’ll take with you for the rest of your career?

Aha yes! The persistence of getting those contacts in!

 

Fandoms are a big part of the industry, who or what are you a fan of?

I love Stranger Things, what a club to be in!

Is there a book that you are a fan of that hasn’t been adapted to film or TV or Netflix yet that you’d love to be a part of?

I love the series of unfortunate events they were a favourite growing up, I used to read a lot of fantasy books and terry Pratchett books a lot of those have not yet been turned into films!

 

With the popularity of streaming services like Netflix, Disney+ etc. what do you think the future of Cinema is?

I feel like it’s moving towards independent cinema which is perfect and personally I feel it’s we’re the best films are created!
