Acclaimed Oscar winning Actress Brie Larson confirmed as the Newest Member of the Marvel Studios Family as Captain Marvel
After months of speculation, it has been confirmed that sought after Oscar winning Actress Brie Larson has nabbed the coveted role of Marvel’s titular heroine Captain Marvel!
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige made the announcement at the end of the jam-packed Marvel Panel at San Diego Comic-Con, which saw the new Trailer for Doctor Strange released alongside footage for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Thor: Ragnarok, Spider-Man: Homecoming and the cast of Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther were brought out on stage including Lupita Nyong'o and Michel B Jordan as Eric Killmonger.
Larson gained acclaim for her performance in 2013’s Short Term 12 as well as her well deserved aforementioned Oscar for last year’s Room.
As well as Captain Marvel, she is also starring opposite Tom Hiddleston in Kong: Skull Island which debuted its first trailer during the Warner Bros. Panel.
Later this year, Larson will be seen in Dan Baron’s Basmati Blues, Ben Wheatley’s Free Fire and is currently filming Destin Daniel Cretton’s The Glass Castle.
It is believed that Larson’s Captain Marvel will debut in the first part of Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War.
