Hollywood icon Laura Linney set to collaborate with Clint Eastwood for the third time with Tom Hanks’ SULLY
Last seen as Mrs. Munro in Sir Ian McKellen’s Mr. Holmes, Laura Linney has signed on to join Tom Hanks in Clint Eastwood's SULLY.
Sully marks Linney’s third collaboration with Eastwood, the Hollywood icons worked together on Mystic River and Absolute Power and Deadline reports she will star as the wife of Hanks's Captain Sully, who famously landed US Airways Flight 1549 on the Hudson River in 2009, after the jet engines failed from multiple bird strikes.
The emergency landing became known as the 'Miracle on the Hudson', as none of the 155 passengers or crew were fatally injured.
Based on the book Highest Duty: My Search for What Really Matters by Sullenberger and Jeffrey Zaslow, the film will also star Aaron Eckhart as the co-pilot who helped Sullenberger as he negotiated the treacherous landing.
Eastwood will direct from a script by Todd Komarnicki, who will also co-direct.
