Jason Statham is ‘Safe’ and rugged in New York

British hardman Jason Statham looked rugged and almost unrecognizable on the set of his latest film 'Safe' in New York.

'Safe' is written and directed by Boaz Yakin, unfortunately there are still no plot details available. Yakin made a splash with his gritty urban drama 'Fresh', but quickly fell into directing stuff like 'Remember The Titans' and 'Uptown Girls' so expectations are low on this one.

Before 'Safe' arrives, Statham will be heard in animated tale 'Gnomeo and Juliet' as Tybalt a version of Shakespeare's play, set in the world of warring indoor and outdoor gnomes, that co stars Emily Blunt and a whole host of British acting talent including legends Sir Patrick Stewart, Dame Maggie Smith and Sir Michael Caine. The film is set for release in the UK in 2011.
