Jeremy Renner locked in for ‘Mission: Impossible IV’

27 August 2010

Paramount Pictures have reportedly locked in Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner to star in the studios forthcoming 'Mission: Impossible IV' directed by Brad Bird.

'The Hurt Locker' star who will also take the role of Hawkeye in the Joss Whedon directed 'The Avengers' was picked to take the role from a shortlist that included his 'The Hurt Locker' co star  Anthony Mackie and the lesser known Kevin Zegers and Chrostopher Egan.

The fourth installment will reunite Tom Cruise with Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames, and while the plot of the film is being kept under wraps, it is thought that the film will have Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) in more of a support capacity to bring Renner into the foreground should Paramount go fourth with a fifth installment.

The film is scheduled to hit cinemas in December 2011, and will shoot in Vancouver, Prague and Dubai, we'll be watching this one closely, as it's Brad Bird's live action directorial debut.
