Johnny Depp and Edgar Wright team for adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s children’s story Fortunately, the Milk

Sought after Actor Johnny Depp who was last seen as James 'Whitey' Bulger in Black Mass is set to team up with acclaimed filmmaker Edgar Wright in the big screen adaptation of Neil Gaiman's hilarious children's story Fortunately, the Milk.
The Hollywood Reporter report that Fortunately, the Milk will be a live action/animation hybrid that Fox is keen to get their hands on that follows a father who goes out to buy milk and returns with heroic tales of aliens, pirate queens and a time travelling dinosaur named Professor Steg.
Word is that Depp is up for the role of the father, although the story is told from the point of view of his children.
Fortunately, the Milk has been written for the screen by Oscar winning songwriter and one half of Flight of the Conchords Bret McKenzie.
Depp has Mathew Cullen’s London Fields and Kevin Smith’s Yoga Hosers ready for release and has Disney’s Alice Through the Looking Glass from filmmaker James Bobin and Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales in post production.
