Multi-Talented Music Artist Brocarde Is Spooking Up The Music Industry With New Single Release TWISTED This Halloween

02 October 2020

Music artist Brocarde is spooking up the music industry with new single release ‘Twisted’ this Halloween, out on 16th October!

With Halloween creeping up on us, the hugely multi-talented rock artist and high-end fashion designer Brocarde is delighted to announce her new chilling single ‘Twisted’, alongside a gothic horror video, out on 16th October. The perfect treat for all Halloween lovers.

With an impressive 132k Instagram following (@brocarde), Brocarde will also launch the ‘Twisted’ clothing collection of limited edition pieces, featuring lyrics from the single, available on Brocarde.com. Her fashion sense is unique, powerful and tells the story of her past, present and future. The mysterious, yet innocence of Brocarde’s energy, talent & look is gripping for all, an artist to watch out for.

Written by Brocarde herself, ‘Twisted’ in the artist own words is “an anthem to diminish all boxes and preconceived notions and a rally cry to tear up the rule book, a refusal to be limited by others’ imaginations. It’s an anthem for all those who feel judged and misrepresented.” In its composition, ‘Twisted’ is the most simplistic song from the trained opera vocalist upcoming album, while the self-directed visual is a twisted circus of horrors in which the artist brings her imagination to life from set dressing and costume design to editing.

Brocarde had a challenging upbringing which is portrayed through her music and style. The gothic, cutting edge look of Brocarde emphasises her creative self and allows her to express her emotions in a powerful way. Brocarde said I got bullied because I was different and stuck out and people thought I was a weird for writing songs and poems and they teased me for wanting to be a performer. The more I got teased, the more isolated I became so I would often hide in the woods and write lyrics, taking comfort from my own imagination, it provided an escape from the horrible reality of school life."

Speaking on the Twisted video and its connection to the lyrics and meaning, Brocarde says; “I’m essentially watching my own life play out as if I’m not part of it. I’m studying myself being pulled in multiple directions and I’m watching myself be manipulated to the point of fear and suppression. It has dark undertones and sadistic notes, I wanted to make myself uncomfortable, hence having knives thrown in my face, it’s actually terrifying to watch some of that footage back and to see how close I was to being hit with a blade.”

‘Twisted’ follows the release of the ‘Love Me ‘Till I’m Beautiful’ EP, released in July, which saw Brocarde teaming up with Korn’s legendary drummer Ray Luzier. Clocking over 800,000 streams across platforms, while the video for the lead single reached nearly 1 million YouTube plays to date. The EP also featured the trained opera singer’s influential coronavirus-inspired track, ‘World Upside Down’, which the video was filmed on her phone during lockdown.

Brocarde’s previous fashion designs have been worn by A-list celebrities including Katy Perry and Lady Gaga. However, the organic, rebellious, disruptive, expression of Brocarde’s creativity became very commercial and she decided to shut down the company and focus on her music.  Brocarde said: ‘I was always quite raw and emotive and I’ve always had this angst and underlaying darkness to my lyrics but because of the success of the fashion brand, producers wanted me to be this colourful bucket of fun, full of buttercups and rainbows. It was like I got lost and I had a major identity crisis and I broke down and started to destruct everything I created and I started to destruct myself.

Brocarde went travelling and started to write music again where she found her voice and true style identity - she wore vintage clothing, puff sleeves, overly feminine in many ways, but all with a dark undercurrent. During this time Brocarde created a female empowerment brand, clothing designs with in your face slogans and a kick ass agenda, so she began to play with the idea of putting her music lyrics and poetry on clothing, that way they could never loose heart, or her heart. That is how the Brocarde Collection was born, it’s more than a fashion brand, it’s her uniform.

Brocarde has been praised as a unique talent by everyone who counts; from rock magazines and radios including Planet Rock Magazine, Kerrang! Radio and Planet Rock Radio, to national newspapers. As well as winning praise from music critics, she has a growing legion of fans among some of the biggest music stars including Korn’s Luzier and Whitesnake's David Coverdale who has described her as an “electrifying, creative new artist.”

With ‘Twisted,’ Brocarde once again shows that she is a bold artist, armed with infinite creativity and equipped with a matchless voice.
