Paul King will return to Director’s chair for StudioCanal’s PADDINGTON 2 with Simon Farnaby onboard to write

28 October 2015

Following the colossal success of PADDINGTON last year, it has been reported that filmmaker Paul King will return to write and direct the eagerly awaited sequel.

Deadline reports that the filmmaker, known for his work on The Mighty Boosh will team with Horrible Histories' Simon Farnaby to pen the follow-up featuring Michael Bond's beloved bear.

Paddington became the highest grossing family film released by a non-US studio after earning more than $260 million at the global box office.

King will once again team with producer David Heyman and StudioCanal for the sequel.

It is unknown who will return for the sequel, but the 2014 original featured Hugh Bonneville, Nicole Kidman, Julie Walters, Sally Hawkins and Doctor Who’s Peter Capaldi as well as voice work from Michael Gambon, Imelda Staunton and SPECTRE’s Ben Whishaw as the voice of Paddington.
