"tugging at the heart strings as we embark on this powerful journey"

Based on the book 'Before I Die' by Jenny Downham, Now is Good is a heart warming and touching study of the end of a seventeen year olds battle with cancer.

Dakota Fanning plays Tessa, the girl in question, and she is a revelation in the part - turning out a fantastic and certainly testing performance as girl who has terminal cancer, whilst credit must go to her for pulling off the English accent to a T!

Paddy Considine is completely believable as the father coming to terms with the inevitable loss of his only daughter, as although holding it all together for the most part, he does break down a few times - although given the circumstances, anyone would react the way he does. And with the array of strong performances from this stellar cast, no one sits idly by whilst Fanning takes centre stage.

The film is an emotional rollercoaster and with the subject matter it could have easily become sentimental and mawkish, thankfully though, Ol Parker and his cast have tackled it spot on and delivered something that resonates with the audience, tugging at the heart strings as we embark on this powerful journey.

Now is Good will make you laugh and will also make you cry; and when it does make sure you have tissues at the ready, you're going to need them.
