Megan Tremethick and the British Horror Studio team Attended the special preview screening of Chronicles of Depression

28 May 2026

Last weekend at the Romford Film Festival, Megan Tremethick and the British Horror Studio team were in attendance for the special preview screening of Chronicles of Depression.

The film is directed by Lawrie Brewster (Lord of Tears) and stars cult horror icon Ian McCulloch (Zombie Flesh Eaters), alongside British Horror Studio regulars Megan Tremethick (The Reign of Queen Ginnarra), Novarro Ramon (Black Chariot), Dorian Todd (In The Grip of Terror), and Michael Daviot (Ghost Crew).

Written by Sam Ashurst (A Little More Flesh) and featuring cinematography by Paul William Kelly, *Chronicles of Depression* blends psychological horror with an emotionally intense story exploring the darker edges of the human psyche.

For longtime followers of British Horror Studio’s work, the festival screening marks another chapter in Megan Tremethick’s ongoing collaboration with Lawrie Brewster and the wider Hex Studios creative family. In a previous interview with The Fan Carpet, Megan spoke about her lifelong love of horror cinema and the appeal of working on projects that embrace the strange, atmospheric, and unexpected. She also described Brewster as “totally wild and crazy and unhinged” in the best possible way.

There was also a return screening of Megan Tremethick’s directorial debut Spoiling You, following its earlier premiere at the Romford Horror Film Festival.

Speaking about the festival experience, Megan shared “Romford Film Festival has always championed independent voices and it is a wonderful few days celebrating independent cinema, meeting fellow filmmakers, and seeing Spoiling You receive the award for Best Production Design at Romford Film Festival.

I was also nominated for Best Actress at the festival, alongside nominations for Spoiling You including Best Feature, Best Director, Best First Time Filmmaker, and a Best Actor nomination for the wonderful Laurence R. Harvey.

Thank you to Spencer, Natalie, and the entire Romford team for their kindness, hospitality, and continued support of independent film.

Now… back into the shadows and onwards to the next picture.”

Special congratulations to Megan Tremethick and the British Horror Studio team on winning Best Production Design for Spoiling You, alongside the film’s many nominations at the Romford Film Festival.

Another amazing achievement nonetheless… can’t wait to see what’s next!
