From drama to comedy, Ruby Modine has quickly become a rising star in the entertainment industry, landing roles in critically acclaimed films and prolific television series. Modine may be best known for her breakout role on seasons seven and eight of Showtime’s long-running hit series “Shameless” opposite William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum. She was a scene stealer as Sierra Morton, Lip Gallagher’s (Jeremy Allen White) latest love interest who is a waitress at Patsy’s Pies, and mom to a young son with her drug-addicted ex-boyfriend. Fans were drawn to Modine’s character, as they watched Sierra and Lip head down an intense and turbulent road, eventually ending in heartbreak.

On the film front, Modine was most recently seen in Aperture Entertainment’s horror comedy feature film, “Satanic Panic” opposite Rebecca Romijn, Hayley Griffith, and Jerry O’Connell. The film follows Sam, a pizza delivery girl (Griffith) at the end of her financial rope who must fight for her life – and her tips – when her last order of the night turns out to be high society Satanist in need of a virgin sacrifice. Modine stars as Judi Ross, a punk rock, quick-witted, foul mouthed rebellious daughter of Danica who saved herself from virgin sacrifice. Judi gives Sam the run-down and pep-talking she needs to get them out of the situation (2019). “Satanic Panic” was nominated for Best Film in the Midnight X-Treme category at the Catalonian International Film Festival. Additionally, Modine can be seen starring as Brandi Wells in the indie drama “American Desert” opposite Michael Ironside and Will Brandt. Directed by Adrian Bartol, the story follows Matt Benning (Brandt), a veteran who served in Afghanistan who finds himself entangled in a dangerous web of drugs, violence, and toxic love that eventually has him running and hiding for his life (2019). Modine also reprised her role as villainess nursing student Lori Spengler in Blumhouse Productions’ thriller sequel “Happy Death Day 2” opposite Jessica Rothe, Israel Broussard, Suraj Sharma, and Sarah Yarkin (2019).

Born in Los Angeles, California and raised in New York City Modine knew from a young age she wanted to be an actress. Her Puerto Rican mother and her father, acclaimed actor Matthew Modine (“Full Metal Jacket,” “The Dark Knight Rises,” “Stranger Things,”) nurtured their daughter’s love for bringing characters to life. Modine got her first taste acting on stage as Aphrodite in a school play, and was hooked ever since.

Modine landed her first big break in a pilot for HBO directed by James Franco entitled “A Visit from the Goon Squad,” based on the 2011 Pulitzer Prize winning book by Jennifer Egan. While the series did not move forward, it put Modine on the map as “one to watch.” She went on to appear in the film “Memoria” opposite James Franco and Thomas Mann, and indies “Central Park” and “My Love Affair with Marriage” before landing the starring role of Lori Spengler in “Happy Death Day” in 2017. “Happy Death Day” opened No.1 at the box office domestically and grossed over $100 million at the box office worldwide.

When Modine isn’t on set, you can find her in the recording studio writing, producing, and recording original music. Her debut EP with her band, Ruby Modine & the Disease, released in April 2019. Modine’s sound; soulful, pure, and polished will intertwine through each track- all being inspired from her personal life and experiences. She is currently working on a full album which is expected for release in 2020.
