Following the success of Seth MacFarlane's Ted, it has emerged that Les Misérables babe Amanda Seyfried has entered negotiations to star in his forthcoming comedy Western Million Ways to Die in the West.

The Hollywood Reporter report that Seyfried would appear alongside Charlize Theron assuming both sign on the dotted line for the film that features a meek farmer who backs out of a gunfight, breaking up with his girlfriend as a consequence.

He befriends the wife of an outlaw when she offers to teach him how to shoot, falling for her just as her husband reappears on the scene.

Oscar host MacFarlane is set to direct and star in the feature, which is scheduled to begin production in May from a script written by him and his Ted writing partners Alex Sulkin and Wellesley Wild.

Seyfried returns to cinemas for Justin Zackham's comedy The Big Wedding in May and will be heard in Blue Sky's Epic as Mary Katherine.

Les Misérables opens in UK cinemas in January, and director Tom Hooper has described it as one of the most rewarding experiences of his career.

Speaking to Flicks and Bits the Oscar winning filmmaker said that it was a unique challenge to adapt one of the most beloved musicals of all time for the big screen explaining "I thought that there was an amazing opportunity to work in a very emotional way with this film, because of the way it combines this extraordinary story with the power and transcendence and pull of the music.
I'm interested in telling stories where there's strong emotional connections that pre-exist between the audience and the story I'm telling.

One of the things that was so exciting about doing The King's Speech was the emotion it provoked in audiences around the world. It made me very much want to make my next film with a subject that would provoke even stronger emotions."

Les Misérables opens on January 11 and features the stellar cast of Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Isabelle Allen, Sacha Baron Cohen, Eddie Redmayne and Samantha Barks.

With Zack Snyder's Man of Steel flying into cinemas next summer, Oscar winner Russell Crowe has opened up about his forthcoming role as Jor-El.

The Les Misérables actor told MTV "It afforded me a wonderful opportunity to put a specific thing in the minds of 14-year-old boys, and that is that the bravest thing you can do, the most important thing you can ever do, is love."

Crowe is the latest actor to take on the iconic role of Superman's Kryptonian father, following in the footsteps of the late, great Marlon Brando who portrayed Jor-El in Richard Donner series of the late 70's.

The character was more recently portrayed by Terence Stamp and Julian Sands in the popular and long running WB series Smallville that featured Tom Welling as Clark Kent aka Kal-El aka Superman.

Man of Steel opens on June 14 featuring Henry Cavill as Clark Kent alongside Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Michael Shannon, Christopher Meloni and Harry Lennix.

The reports were true! It has been confirmed that The Dark Knight Rises heroine Anne Hathaway will star in Steven Spielberg's Robopocalypse.

Hathaway was linked to the project back in September, and up until now she hadn't spoken publicly about the forthcoming sci-fi project from the legendary director.

Speaking to Empire, the actress who will next be seen in Tom Hooper's Les Misérables said "If Robopocalypse happens I will be in it and I believe it's quite real, though you never want to hang your hat on anything."

She revealed that the appeal of working with Spielberg was too great to turn down adding "Whenever I'm taking time off, I always joke to my team that I'm on vacation unless Steven Spielberg calls. And I was on vacation and Spielberg called. So I was like, 'OK, put my money where my mouth is'."

Hooper's Les Misérables opens on January 11 and features the stellar cast of Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Helena Bonham Carter, Isabelle Allen, Sacha Baron Cohen, Eddie Redmayne and Samantha Barks.

She was last seen as Selena Kyle in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises and while she'll return to cinemas in Tom Hooper's Les Misérables word is she has entered talks for Steven Spielberg's Robopocalypse.

The Hollywood Reporter report that Hathaway is in line to star alongside Thor: The Dark World hero Chris Hemsworth who is also in talks for the film.

Tom Rothman is set to producer and recently said in a statement "If you are in politics, you dream of a call from the White House, in baseball, from the Yankees, in movies, from Steven Spielberg.

Robopocalypse is the kind of important epic entertainment, a big movie with big ideas, that Steven does better than any filmmaker on earth. I am honoured beyond measure that he asked for my help on it and fired up to do whatever I can for him, Stacey, the outstanding DreamWorks team, and all of my friends at Fox.

I enjoyed the idea of being unemployed for a week, but this will be way more fun."

Robopocolypse is based on Daniel H Wilson's 2011 book and is set for an April 2014 release.
