SYNOPSIS
Taking place shortly after the events in Batman Begins, The Dark Knight explores Gotham City’s ongoing and complex relationship with the caped crusader, and the arrival of the Joker – a master criminal hell bent on causing chaos in Gotham City.
Along with the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman), District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) and his faithful butler Alfred (Michael Caine), Batman must use all his power, skill and wealth to combat the anarchy created by the motiveless Joker.
The ensemble cast also stars Maggie Gyllenhaal as Bruce Wayne’s love interest Rachel Dawes, and Morgan Freeman returns as Lucius Fox, his trusted friend and provider of Batman’s equipment.
