"It is an easy watch but if you are looking for a film you could possibly identify with, or that has order or purpose then this is not for you"

It's hard to categorize this film. It encapsulates all the entertainment of a comedy, the charm of a romance and the thrill of an action yet it does no particular genre justice.

It is an easy watch but if you are looking for a film you could possibly identify with, or that has order or purpose then this is not for you. However If you do manage to look beyond the inaccuracies and the Hollywood Esq. storyline then you will simply enjoy it for what it is. A charming and likeable film.

The chemistry between Jen (Heigal) and Spencer (Kutcher) is sweet and endearing but that’s probably a lot to do with the playful writing rather than the acting, as they both have very different styles and personalities its hard to actually see them together as a believable couple.

But Let's just say this wasn’t the only unbelievable thing in the film. Spencer is a “blah trained by the blah blah blah with a license to blah”, Killers never tells us who or what Spencer actually is. While working in France he meets Jen (the newly single twenty something on vacation with her parents (Catherine O’Hara and Tom Selleck). They have an instant attraction and soon get married and move to suburbia. Spencer gives up his hitman job for the ordinary life – all this happens in the space of the first twenty minutes! Three years later Jen is throwing a secret birthday party for Spencer and one of the guests tries to kill him. We find out he has a 20 million death warrant on his head and the truth unfolds. Killers then tops itself with a big reveal that will force you to say, “Really???”

Overall I’d recommend this film as it has some very funny parts. The supporting roles are amusing and it has some warm qualities.  Heigl is very likeable and Kutcher is no doubt good eye candy for the girls, but I wouldn’t rush out to the cinemas. The film is just too mixed, I suspect deleted scenes would have answered a few questions. I’d probably wait until it comes out on DVD and rent a copy as there’s no denying its a perfect ‘night in on the sofa’ easy watch.
