Olivia Wilde tipped as the new Lara Croft in Tomb Raider

February 16 2011

She'll soon be suiting up alongside Harrison Ford in Jon Favreau's Sci-fi actioner Cowboys & Aliens when it hits cinemas on August 12 but rumour has it that the sexy Tron: Legacy rising star is being lined up as the next Lara Croft in the proposed Tomb Raider Reboot.

A source close to the project said "This would be a far darker and more serious Tomb Raider movie, the idea is to get a top director and an intelligent script and make this an empowering character for women as well as a popular one with men. Olivia is just one of the names being suggested for the lead role. She would appear to be ideal."

While Olivia can still be seen in cinemas alongside Russell Crowe and Elizabeth Banks in crime drama The Next Three Days, it's her role of Quorra in Tron: Legacy that is making studio bosses take note of her star power.
